Children And Youth - Rainbow Project
Wong CY is a 6-year boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). CY comes from a low income family. CY needs both occupational therapy (OT) and speech therapy (ST) to improve his motor skills and communication skills. Family is financially very tight. They have been on the waiting list for government subsidized service for 2 years.
“The funding from Operation Santa Claus allows Rainbow Project to provide subsidy to low income families. Based on financial assessment, CY’s family is eligible to apply for a subsidy and there is no need to wait for 2 years. Parents are very happy to see great improvement of the child after receiving treatment at Rainbow Project.” Says Mr. Keith Lee, Project Director, of Rainbow Project Learning Centre.
“Parents are invited to sit in during the treatment session while therapists providing treatment. In this way parents could learn the skills and carry out training at home. More training helps the child to progress faster and better.”
